And the winner is…“I’ve been checking out Craftsy website, and some of the free classes. My sister told me about this site, she had taken a class and loved it! I would really LOVE to win the chance to take the T-shirt class. I have a fear to try new things, but I’m sure taking the class would give me more confidence. Thanks for sharing your embroidery expertise.” – Jane B.

this is a really great resource! I downloaded the entire issue and saved it on my PC for future reference. I especially enjoyed the features on embroidering t-shirts and the up-to-date review of the many new stabilizer choices that are available!

I can’t get the magazine to download in my iPad. Is the magazine not compatible with ebooks

  2. Tammy Waggoner on May 8, 2013 at 12:34 pm

I finally figured out how to open the magazine, had to go thru adobe program and tell it to open it, other than that I love the new magazine digital issue. Takes a little getting used too, but all in all a good read. Thank you for the free issue, I appreciate it, lots of educational/learning info. I am somewhat new to embroidery and I learned alot more. Keep those ideas coming for us newbies, makes your magazine more important to me!!

  3. Sandy Smith on May 8, 2013 at 12:47 pm

I like the magazine in print form, and I was pleased to receive this digital copy. I love the navigation features and the ability to enlarge and reduce print and pictures to my needs. Thank you for providing this information-packed resource that embroiderers of all skill levels can utilize! Now I can carry the information with me in my jump drive wherever I go…woo hoo!

  4. Marilyn Weiss on May 8, 2013 at 2:33 pm

Haven’t downloaded it yet, but I know it will be fabulous–it’s from Designs!

Thank you for this nice gift.

I loved the digital magazine and plan to do the project using the Designer’s Gallery article. Thank you

Wow, now I can read DiME even while I am “working”!!!! This is great!

  7. Carol Seavitt on May 8, 2013 at 5:01 pm

So how very cool is this?!!!! I love the download — I love paper too Eileen — but this pdf file is interactive! WOW — and then I just click to download designs and have half screen when referencing other websites…Love Love Love it. Your team did a fantastic job. :)))

  8. Chris on May 8, 2013 at 5:32 pm

This is so cool, and I like that you can still print out the pages you need to. I have to confess to a weakness for advertisements, and this is so great that you can click on it. With the print magazine I always think I will remember to go to the website nex time I’m on the computer and then don’t. I’m very intrigued with the snap hoop monster right now.

  9. Virginia on May 8, 2013 at 5:40 pm

Honestly I am not a fan of digital issues of magazines. I really do not find them user friendly. I do appreciate all the thought and work that goes in to getting them together. but I would miss the print issues terribly and if the only way to receive the magazine was digitial I would not subscribe.

  10. Julie Birbeck on May 8, 2013 at 7:22 pm

I have been enjoying reading the digital editions of Designs In Machine Embroidery. I love the new issue, it is very informative and the links are very handy.
I would have preferred to have an iPad app for the magazine, but either way I can’t wait for a digital subscription to be offered for readers. As an Australian reader this would make purchasing the magazine easier & more affordable.

  11. Debbie St.Germain on May 8, 2013 at 9:11 pm

I really like the magazine, nice articles and really nice format for easy reading and viewing.
I have an embroidery machine and so far, I have only used it for sewing, so I really need to learn how to use it and this is a great way to get started.

  12. Kandy on May 8, 2013 at 10:01 pm

Great way to get information out to people. I love the format and I don’t have to figure out where I’m going to store it in my sewing room.

  13. Linda Seemann-Korte on May 8, 2013 at 11:30 pm

I like the digital download but I still like to have a magazine in my hand to read the fine print and admire the creations – there is nothing like a hard copy of an embroidery project! My favorite project was the pin tucks! Love them! Can’t wait to try them!

  14. gayle on May 9, 2013 at 3:18 am

I love the magazine and I am looking foward to reading it from cover to cover. Being in Australia I don’t see it in the shops but when I do, I grab it very fast before someone else does. Afer a quick look I love the pin tucks.

  15. Nancy N on May 9, 2013 at 6:15 am

The digital version was pretty great. It took a Really long time to download and I have TWC Road Runner service.

  16. Jane on May 9, 2013 at 6:45 am

Thank you for the free copy of the mag – It is very well done. I am now a fan of digital mags and find yours particularly easy to navaigate. I like the easy buttons you provide to get in closer and then to easily click to get out of the closeup. Some mags are very frustrating to do that function.
Of course, your info is great – i needed the stabilizer info – personally.
You have a good blend of designs, directions and general info. Thanks for the chance to win.

  17. Dianne on May 9, 2013 at 7:47 am

Love, love, love this free digital copy. It is just wonderful. Very easy to use. I contacted customer service to see if the digital copy works on a Kindle as was very excited to hear they are working on that option as well. It’s a whole new world and it’s wonderful. Love the stabilizer info and all the great projects. Can’t wait to try the recipe cards, what a great idea. Thank you Designs, you are truly the ONLY embroidery magazine for me.

  18. Nancy Jacobs on May 9, 2013 at 8:51 am

I downloaded it. Thank You! I think it is wonderful and I like the interactive format of it. My first project is going to be the recipe cards. My daughter Katie is getting married next month and the recipe cards will be a gift for her. I shared your digital magazine offer with my blog readers over at http://www.embroideryit.com by directing them here. I hope it introduces people to you.

  19. Patty Schrock on May 9, 2013 at 10:07 am

Thank you so much for the digital copy of your magazine. i love it and have been wanting a subscription of the print addition for some time now. Maybe this digital copy will sooth me untill I get my own!!! Thanks again!

Love it!!!!!!!!!!!! This is always a mag that I find so helpful. Now more then ever.

  22. Lola Gerhard on May 9, 2013 at 3:53 pm

I guess I am a touchy feely kind of gal. I downloaded the magazine, but could not figure out how to print anything out. I would much prefer to have the paper issue that I can take anywhere and read at my leisure.

  23. Mary Haggenmaker on May 9, 2013 at 6:23 pm

I downloaded and it is great. I have given it the initial browse and it is impressive. I already receive my magazine and I pour over that. The real cool part is the ability to make it bigger. I will be printing the newbie because it is easier on these old eyes, at least for me. I also won’t have to worry about my hard drive crashing and losing it. Is this a one time thing or will there be more?

  24. Colleen Bell on May 9, 2013 at 6:31 pm

It is unbelievable that you could offer something as good as this for free. I usually am not fond of ebooks – love the feel of paper, but this one was different. I really read all the way through it adn I can’t remember doing that with an ebook before. I am not sure why it was different, but whatever it was, you did a fantastic job!

  25. Mary Haggenmaker on May 9, 2013 at 6:33 pm

  26. Nancy on May 10, 2013 at 6:00 am

Love the digital magazine. Great information for all levels of experience and so easy to navigate. I made sure to forward to my friends who are also exercising brain cells and learning a new hobby adding embroidery to their sewing projects.

  27. Lee Vertrees on May 10, 2013 at 12:24 pm

Very good resource. Love the tips on stabilizers. This newbie found many inspirational projects. Thank you.

  28. Lorel Maple on May 10, 2013 at 2:15 pm

Great Application on a variety of levels….example of magazine content, ability to increase the font for those of us ‘young at heart’, skill level assignment….What’s not to love!

  29. beth daniels on May 10, 2013 at 2:21 pm

I downloaded the magazine today and I love all the information I received in it. I did not know some of the things that was written in it. I learned a lot about stabilizers I did not even know until now and I now have no fear of machine embroidering on a T-shirt. Thank you for the digital magazine.

  30. Beth R on May 12, 2013 at 10:40 am

Great format, and wonderful information. I don’t like the idea of clicking on an ad (by accident) and being taken directly to the advertiser’s web page – I prefer to navigate to desired web pages myself. But there may be an Acrobat setting that will change that. Otherwise, I like the magazine!

  31. Joanie on May 12, 2013 at 10:36 pm

I have been thinking about subscribing to this magazine but I wasn’t sure it would be what I wanted, so I was thrilled to be able to take a look. I really liked the list of stabilizers and the in the hoop projects. I have never done any in the hoop projects now I want to give it a try. Thanks for letting us look into your magazine. I really enjoyed it.

  32. Patricia on May 13, 2013 at 2:02 pm

I LOVE the new digital magazine. Lots of good information. If I win I will go for the year subscription but could you send it to me in digital!!!!

  33. Kathy on May 14, 2013 at 9:40 pm

I still like a paper copy of magazines as I find it easier to flip back and forth. But in the interest of keeping thing out of landfills(not that I could part with my magazine) I think it is a great idea. Thanks for the free copy!!

  34. Ronel on May 15, 2013 at 12:34 am

I really love the digital magazine! I have gone through the online copies of your Designs Magazines more than one time and every time I see something different. I am from South Africa so for me to get the magazine is to expensive so I really hope that you are thinking of making the magazine digital so that I can buy it!Thank you for the digital free copy.

  35. karima misraoui on May 23, 2013 at 4:38 am

Thank-you so much for the opportunity read your magazine. I live in North Africa and it is impossible to find english magazines (everything is french) so whenever I find something that I can read and keep it whether it be online or in my hand I really appreciate it. Thank you again for the gift.

  36. Fran on May 26, 2013 at 12:07 pm

I just got home to BC from a lovely family reunion with my brother who lives in Colorado, so my comments are a little late. But I finally downloaded your magazine, and it is fabulous! By far the best quality emag I have ever seen. I love the full screen and the hot links and it is so easy to navigate, not to mention the great content! I hope it is available in digital format on an ongoing basis.

I almost never leave a response, however i did a few searching and wound up here We’re So Proud!
    | Eileen’s Machine Embroidery Blog. And I actually do have some
questions for you if you usually do not mind. Is it just me or does it look like some of these remarks
come across like they are coming from brain dead visitors?
:-P And, if you are posting at other social sites, I’d like to keep
up with everything new you have to post. Would you list of all of
your community pages like your twitter feed,
    Facebook page or linkedin profile?

  38. Cathy on October 13, 2013 at 2:09 am

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and all.
Nevertheless think of if you added some great graphics or videos to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and
video clips, this site could certainly be one of the very best in its niche.
    Wonderful blog!

Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet
effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
I must say you have done a superb job with this.
In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Internet explorer.
    Superb Blog!
