Did you see the Crazy Quiltin’ table runner featured on the cover of Designs in Machine Embroidery? This beautiful project was made using Eileen’s latest book, Today’s Crazy Quilting with Your Embroidery Machine and also a free Floral Embroidery design from Designs in Machine Embroidery. If you missed out on the free Floral design, you can download it by clicking here.
This afternoon I had the opportunity to stitch additional designs from the Floral designs collection.
First I used a pale blue fabric and then colored using Copic markers.
I stitched another sample. The look is completely transformed on white with a golden colored thread. Quite elegant!
I found a light gray fabric next and used red thread. This sample makes me happy.
Last I stitched the same block on black fabric with a jewel toned thread color. It was begging for embellishments—so I added some crystals and other accessories.
Isn’t it amazing how changing the thread color and fabric can transform the look of a design?
There are other designs included with this design collection… I combined the border design and a single flower to create this block. Then I colored elements using Copic markers.
I wondered what would happen if I continued combining, mixing and matching…an original block! Using embroidery software I merged the Swirl design with the border design to create the block below.
